As Jesus gave his disciples (and by extension, the church) the Great Commission in Matthew 28, he did not generically say, "Make disciples of all the lost." He said, "Make disciples of all nations." In Revelation 5, we see the same emphasis on the nations. In fact, Jesus' worth to bring about God's plan for history is tied to him purchasing people from "every tribe and language and people and nation." As Christians, we should be committed to pray for and go to all the nations to show forth the surpassing worth of Jesus Christ the Lord.
