Summary

If we were to ask 100 Christians, "Why did Jesus die on the Cross," how would they respond? Would any of those 100 Christians respond with the answer, "To reveal the righteousness of God." Probably not. Yet, Paul tells us that this is an important purpose of God in the Gospel. Through the Gospel, God reveals His righteousness in judging sin, fulfilling His promises, and saving His people. In the Gospel, God reveals His excellent character.
