Summary

Reading: Ephesians 4:1-17 and 1 Corinthians 12:12-27 Paul describes the church using a metaphor of the human body. All parts held together, serving, living, worshiping and growing serves to build up the whole body whose head is Christ. Every part of the body is important. Every part has a purpose. What Paul describes using the human body metaphor, is ministry, purposes and people must be attached to one another. So a church must be first purposed in organization so that there is something to be attached too. Therefore, we could say a very first purpose of the church is to have an intentional framework so that ministries can be in unity.
