Summary

Based on both experience and the teaching of Scripture, Paul knows a great truth: God does not treat us as we deserve. God showers the riches of His kindness upon all, for the purpose of leading us to repentance. Despite God's kindness, however, Paul also knows that humanity despises God's kindness apart from the work of God's Spirit. But if we embrace God's ultimate kindness shown, the Cross of Christ, then we have no fear of His wrath.
